Life School Charter District Expands to Carrollton with Addition of Elementary Campus

One of DFW’s Original Charter School Districts Opens K-5 School in Carrollton

Life School Carrollton Elementary opened this fall in Carrollton, making it the first campus of the Life School Charter District located in the North Dallas area. Life School Carrollton is the 10th campus for the 20-plus-year Life School District, which includes six elementary schools, two middle schools, and a 3A and 4A high school.

“We are proud to be a part of the Carrollton community, a community that places a high value on growth not only economically but in serving the people who live here,” said Life School Superintendent Brent Wilson of the district’s expansion into this new area. “We look forward to getting to know our new families and neighbors and working in partnership together to help our students become leaders with strong character and heart who will go on to do great things in life.”

Life School Carrollton, which is located on the Covenant Church campus on Trinity Mills, is an open-enrollment public charter school for students in kindergarten through 5th grade. In addition to Carrollton, Life School has campuses in Oak Cliff, Dallas, Cedar Hill, Lancaster, Red Oak and Waxahachie.

“Life School Carrollton is a great addition to the Carrollton community,” said Carrollton Mayor Kevin Falconer of the newest Life School in a statement prior to the event. “We are excited to have another school with a strong track record of success as part of Carrollton’s many outstanding educational offerings for our families.”

Councilmember Glen Blanscet, who attended the event along with fellow councilmember Mike Hennefer, agreed with the mayor’s sentiments. “We are grateful that Life School has joined our community,” he said during his remarks at the ribbon-cutting. “It’s a great partnership and it’s a great fit for a church like Covenant Church which is such a major part of our community as well. This just enhances the work that can happen on this property and we’re excited that you’re here. Thank you for being a part of Carrollton.”

Life School Carrollton Principal Jennifer Villavaso – who has 14 years of experience in education, including 10 years in Carrollton – is excited to be part to the Carrollton community. “It has been an absolute honor in serving this community that has been so welcoming and generous to us,” she said.
