The DeSoto Arts Commission and Parks & Recreation Department are gearing up for the 3rd annual DeSoto Arts Live! Art & Music Festival on Saturday, September 29th. This event is free and the public is encouraged to bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the day.  There are a limited number of reserved pavilion seats that are available for purchase at $28 at   You're receive a wristband that will admit you to the reserved seating area in our Outdoor Amphitheater as well as a special Meet n' Greet Wine Reception between 6:30 pm and 8:30 pm with national recording artists, Regina Belle and The Dazz Band.

The DeSoto Arts Live event is a full day of fun celebrating visual arts, dance and music. We are working hard to make it bigger and better this year by expanding the art show with many more artists demonstrating, displaying and selling their work including Cosmos the Spray Paint Artist, Metal Art by Tyra Goodley, Desmond Blair the No Hands Artist, and mural artist Izk Davies.  We are partnering with the Big Thought Organization to provide an awesome Kidz Zone featuring free activities including the Perot Tech Truck, creation of a community mosaic mural, Storytelling the African Way, strolling performers, an inflatable obstacle course and more. There will be lots of great food and non-stop musical entertainment beginning at 1 pm with performances by Michelle Gibson’s New Orleans Slant Band, the Natural Change Band at 3pm, followed by national recording artists - Howard E. Scott and the Low Riders (Why Can’t We Be Friends) at 4:30 pm, and the Regina Belle.  Dazz Band (Let It Whip) at 6:00 pm. The event will culminate with a special performance by the Dazz Band (Let It Whip)at 8:30 pm. Your reserved seat ticket will get you "up close and personal" with the national recording artists.
