Bishop Dunne Falcon Football Team Ready to "Protect the Crown"

The 2014 TAPPS 5A Football State Champion come into the 2015 season hungry to defend their title and to “protect the crown,” which is the motto of the upcoming season.

The Falcons graduated many key players from last years state championship team, but head coach Michael Johnson and team leaders are optimistic that the young talent is ready to lead the team to another successful and victorious season. Thirteen of 18 seniors on the team were offered scholarships, with full four year offers going to Darrion Daniels at Oklahoma State; Adrian "A.D." Miller at Oklahoma University; Micah Simon at Brigham Young University; and Dailen Sutton at the U.S. Air Force Academy.

Recent graduates of Bishop Dunne who are currently playing college football include:

Alex Norman, class of 2012, at the University of Texas in Austin

Ishmael Wilson, class of 2013, played at Texas A&M freshman year and transferred to Baylor last year

Jovan Pruitt, class of 2014, signed with Arkansas, now at Trinity Valley CC

Nick Watkins, class of 2014, at Notre Dame

Payton Hendrix Class of 2014, at Texas Tech

The Falcons begin their season Friday, August 28, 2015, with an away game at Dallas Christian with a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.  The team will play in the Lone Star Classic on Saturday, September 12th in DeSoto at Eagle Stadium with a 3:00 p.m. kick off.
