Supporting the Families Who Serve: Scholarship Applications Now Open

For military and first responder families facing education costs, there is meaningful support available right now.

Folds of Honor – North Texas began accepting applications on February 1, 2026, for educational scholarships that support children and spouses from kindergarten through 12th grade and into higher education, including college, trade school and post-graduate programs. The deadline to apply is March 31, 2026, and all applications must be submitted through the organization’s online portal at foldsofhonor.org/scholarships.

Originally founded to serve military families, Folds of Honor has expanded its mission in recent years to include the families of fallen and disabled first responders, broadening its commitment to those who serve and protect our country and communities. Scholarships can help cover private school tuition, tutoring, college expenses, technical and trade programs, and advanced degrees.

Locally, Folds of Honor North Texas raised $4.6 million at its 2025 gala to fund educational scholarships for families in our community.

“Honoring the families of our nation’s military members and first responders is a responsibility we all share,” said Sarah Elliott, Senior Director of Impact for Folds of Honor North Texas. “We are committed to standing beside these families by helping ensure access to education and creating lasting opportunities that honor their sacrifice and service.”

Since 2007, Folds of Honor has awarded nearly 73,000 scholarships nationwide, totaling more than $340 million.

If this opportunity applies to your family or someone you know, be sure to submit an application before March 31.
