There are firework shows and then there are firework extravaganzas! Freedom Fest presented by the City of Ennis on Saturday, June 25 begins at 6 pm at Veterans Memorial Park located at 2301 Ennis Parkway. The choreographed fireworks display at dark that will include thematic elements not seen anywhere else in the Lone Star State. Admission to Freedom Fest is free.

The event benefits Give a Kid a Chance with visitors asked to help Stuff the Bus by bringing school supplies for kids in elementary, middle and high school. 

Freedom Fest visitors will enjoy children’s activities include paddle boats, a rock climbing wall, slides and an obstacle course, festival food and drinks, and “The Most Beautiful Fireworks Display in all of Texas, powered by Pyrotecnico.”  Le Freak, the “World’s Greatest Disco Band” will kick off at Veterans Memorial Park at 8 pm. 

The first five hundred people in Veterans Memorial Park will enjoy a free burger meal compliments of In-N-Out Burger. 

“We are so proud to partner with Pyrotecnico, one of the largest pyro companies in the U.S.,” said Erica Todd, City of Ennis Communications and Marketing Manager. “They bring the magic! This fireworks display is like no other and easily takes the title of ‘The Most Beautiful Fireworks Display in all of Texas.’ But you have to be in Veterans Park to really experience the magic. We encourage everyone to bring a blanket or chairs and celebrate our nation’s independence with the whole community.” 

Free parking and shuttle transfers will be provided from the Ennis High School parking lot, located at 1405 W. Lake Bardwell in Ennis, to and from Veterans Park.

Throughout the weekend, visitors can enjoy small-town Americana at its finest with a carnival midway, a colorful bike parade through picturesque downtown Ennis, and a patriotic festival filled with sights, sounds and flavors to celebrate America in Ennis, just 30 minutes south of Dallas. 

Activities include:

• Main Street Midway, featuring exciting carnival rides, games and food June 23 – 26 from 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. 
• Red, White and Bike Parade, starting at 104 N. Mckinney Street in downtown Ennis on  Saturday, June 25^th beginning at 9:30 am. Kids and their parents are invited to embellish their bicycle in red, white and blue streamers and trinkets, then parade down brick-lined streets in downtown and nearby historic neighborhoods. Anyone can participate in the parade. Judges will select the Best under 6; Best Family; and Most Patriotic entries. There will be drawings to win brand new bikes at the event. 
• After the parade, there will be food, music and fun at the Bluebonnet Market, featuring fresh produce, baked goods, artisan gifts, jewelry, clothing and more.
